I sometimes wish that life wouldn't move at such a break-neck pace.  I had a counseling session tonight in which my counselor asked me how I rest.  After mentioning such things as tuning out through watching tv and the like, he looks at me and asks what I I do to 'actively' rest, not simply disengage.  And so I sit here, trying to rest, actively... The tv is on, in the background (pbs on ancient roman decapitations), I'm writing online, and trying not to think of all the work I have to do.

how in the world can I not know how to rest?
